Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Office@deepkneadsmassage.com or (208)705-6025  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

At this time, we do not bill to health insurances. If you know your health insurance covers massages, we are happy to send you the invoices to allow you to get reimbursed by your health insurance. Our policies ask that you pay for your services upfront. Some HSA accounts allow you to use it for massage. Please see your health providers for accurate information.

If insurance is billed, there can be an extra fee applied to perform that billing.

Yes, we do! Please see our Gift Cards page.

Being a clinic, we want to be seen as similar to a physical therapists office. Are you expected to tip your physical therapist or their assistants? Likely, the answer is no. But we also know we are a tad different from a PT office. Hence, we do not expect tips but they are greatly appreciated, especially by our contracted massage therapists. If we do a fantastic job or you want to give an extra thank you, tips are the perfect way to say so.

Swedish massage is the most common massage practice in western health care. Swedish massage uses the following massage techniques to help relax and destress your body: petrissage, effleurage, tapotement, and kneading.

A typical full body massage includes work on your hands, arms, neck, head, back, shoulders, legs, and feet. There is absolutely NO sexual component to massage what so ever. Please see our Policies page for further details.

Take a shower! We like taking care of clients who take care of themselves. An example might be, if your feet are dirty, do not expect us to wash your feet or to work on them.

If you wear any of your undergarments (bra, boxers, underwear- please note they might get oil or lotion on them)

If you wear a bra please wear one that has a clasp in back so that when face down we can ask if you are comfortable with us unclasping it for better access to your shoulders and back. We will re-clasp upon completing the back portion of the massage.

The best type of underwear or boxers are ones that give us the most access to your legs.

If you have other questions please give us a call.

Relax! Better said than done. This may actually be the most difficult thing to do during a massage. The massage therapist will better be able to knead your muscles when you are not fighting, flexing, or predicting what we will be doing next. For example: when working on the neck instead of lifting your head off the table as they place their hands under your neck. Lay as still and as lax as possible. Trust your therapist's strength and knowledge.

Talk or not to talk?

This is completely up to the client. We as therapists take our cues from you. If you want to have a conversation we can, or you can be quiet and listen to your body. If a therapist is ever too chatty feel free to ask us to stop talking. We will not be offended!

Yes, you will be properly draped the entire time. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. There must always be a sheet used to protect clients and therapists. See our Policies page for further details.

Yes, that is why we have such detailed health intake forms. It is imperative that we receive accurate health information including any health related problems and medication you are currently taking. Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.

Better! That is our hope each time you get off the massage table. Although, it is not uncommon to have some soreness next day. Some people will feel a little sick if they do not drink enough water after a massage. To avoid soreness or feeling sick we recommend drinking lots of water, going for a 10 minute walk, and light stretching just before bed.

There are so many benefits to massage! Some of the general benefits that you get with all massage types is increased blood flow, decreased stress, and increased mobility.

Reflexology is the art and science of stimulating the body's own healing forces by locating and stimulating certain points on the body that affect organs or functions in distant parts of the body. Reflexology is based on the principles that reflex points in the hands and feet are related to every organ and area of the body. Deep Kneads Massage reflexology sessions focus on the feet.

We have a detailed and robust health intake, a general liability, and acknowledgement of our policies (see our policies here). In regards to the health intake there are certain ailments, conditions, and medications that can be contraindications for massage. All clients who seek treatment from Deep Kneads Massage are required to fill out these forms before their appointment and once per year if you are an existing client.

Do not worry about shaving your legs. In fact, the best for our therapist's hands is several days growth or a fresh shave. It does not feel good for the massage therapist's soft hands to be rubbing down sandpaper. 🤗

  • Is that a knot?
  • You actually had to go to school for massage?
  • Sorry, I'm 20 minutes late. Do I still get the full hour? (see Policies)
  • I forgot to shave (see above)
  • I bet your hands get tired!
