You will reap the benefits of massage therapy if it becomes a regular part of your life. Our goal is for us to work together to take better care of your health, long-term.
Communication is key. We need to know what you're feeling, experiencing and what you're looking to gain in order to best help you. In turn, we will explain the treatment and what you can expect to gain from it. Whether it be deep tissue massage or prenatal massage or Swedish massage.
Massage therapy is a tool to help heal. Whether it's stress or simply to pamper yourself, the benefits of massage can be life changing. We would be honored to take that journey with you while serving the citizens of Pocatello and Chubbuck .
The goal of Swedish Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to your heart. Swedish Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
Deep Tissue Massage reaches deeper layers of muscles. It is used to break down knots and relieve pressure points throughout the body. This massage therapy is beneficial for athletes and those who sit for long periods of time.
Prenatal massage is therapeutic bodywork focusing on the needs of the mother-to-be as her body changes with her pregnancy. This helps to alleviate tension, improves circulation, relieves mental and physical fatigue.
Hot Stone Massage is often paired with Swedish Massage. Stones are heated and used with oils to sooth, warm, and massage your muscles. This massage therapy technique allows your body to relax and release tension and stress. Use of hot stones also helps you reach deeper and gain similar benefits found in a deep tissue massage.
At this time, we do not bill to health insurances. If you know your health insurance covers massages, we are happy to send you the invoices to allow you to get reimbursed by your health insurance. Our policies ask that you pay for your services upfront. Some HSA accounts allow you to use it for massage. Please see your health providers for accurate information.
Swedish masssage is the most common massage practice in western health care. Swedish massage uses the following massage techniques to help relax and destress your body: petrissage, effleurage, tapotement, and kneading.
A typical full body massage includes work on your hands, arms, neck, head, back, shoulders, legs, and feet. Please see our Policies page for further details
Take a shower! We like taking care of clients who take care of themselves. An example might be, if your feet are dirty, do not expect us to wash your feet or to work on them.
If you wear any of your undergarments (bra, boxers, underwear please note they might get oil on them)
If you wear a bra please wear one that has a clasp in back so that we can get better access to your shoulders and back while laying face down.
The best type of underwear or boxers are ones that give us the most access to your legs.
If you have other questions please give us a call.
During a massage clients are asked to take deep breaths and find a relaxing place in their mind. This can help clients to relax their muscles. Part of our request as therapists is to ask clients to not help us move your arms as we massage. In essence we want your muscles to not be flexed so we can find the truly tight or knotted muscles. This also allows the therapist to better evaluate the body and any issue areas you may have from injuries or daily stress.
Yes, you will be properly draped the entire time. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. There must always be a sheet used to protect clients and therapists. See our Policies page for further details.
Yes, that is why we have such detailed health intake forms. It is imperative that we receive accurate health information including any health related problems and medication you are currently taking. Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.
Better! That is our hope each time you get off the massage table. Although, it is not uncommon to have some soreness next day. Some people will feel a little sick if they do not drink enough water after a massage. To avoid soreness or feeling sick we recommend drinking lots of water, going for a 10minute walk, and light stretching just before bed.
There are so many benefits to massage! Some of the general benefits that you get with all massage types is increased blood flow, decreased stress, and increased mobility.
Reflexology is the art and science of stimulating the body's own healing forces by locating and stimulating certain points on the body that affect organs or functions in distant parts of the body. Reflexology is based on the principles that reflex points in the hands and feet are related to every organ and area of the body. Deep Kneads Massage reflexology sessions focus on the feet.
